Welcome to the Phoenician Ship Expedition website. This Expedition
is attempting to recreate the first circumnavigation of Africa, accomplished by Phoenician mariners in 600BC,
in a replica Phoenician/Mediterranean vessel.
Phoenicia arrives at Horta in the Azores
Phoenicia
has now made landfall at Horta in the Azores after a short passage from
Flores following an epic 82 days at sea from St Helena. In Horta the
crew will be joined by 3 additional members (Niklas, Edward and Yuri)
and pick up further supplies before embarking on the next passage to
Gibraltar.
